Cascade Park Makes Front Page

The Columbian has reported on the recent meeting held to discuss over-lay zoning for manufactured home communities. As with most newspaper articles it contained a smattering of inaccuracies. From my attendance at the first thirty minutes of the meeting I wrote down two takeaways:

1.The city of Vancouver is actively seeking some form of zoning protection for existing mobile home parks. To be brought forward in “months, not years” according to the City Planner. Clark County planners are aware of what the city is doing.

2. The city has no active plans for annexation of our park and the residential areas adjoining it.

So, we are at the very early stages of protecting older parks from being re-developed into other uses.
