April Board Minutes
April 21, 2024 1:30 P.M.
Attendance: Board Members: David Leathers, Linda Huettl, Michael Shepherd, Elaine Meyers, Margaret Fedje, Janet Mauldin, Andrea Kuehn. Residents: Karin Shepherd, Chuck Mauldin.
Minutes approved as distributed and published.
David introduced new member Andrea who in turn told us a little about herself and professional background. Andrea then presented a few sample logos for discussion. She will make some suggested revisions for potential adoption.
Discussion of upcoming annual meeting and election of officers. Consensus that terms should be staggered to avoid complete changeover of board in any one year. Michael will bring some suggestions for bylaw revision to next meeting.
Annual meeting will be Monday, June 17 at 6 P.M. at East Woods Presbyterian Church, 16210 NE 20th St., Vancouver. Parking is limited so suggestions for carpooling were discussed. David asked for suggestions for agenda.
Further discussion of steps needed to be prepared for possible park purchase. Next meeting we will host Robin Zorich, resident of Woodland East and Director of AMHO to talk about their experience with the failed bid to buy Woodland East.
There was much discussion of communicating with and among park residents including all methods of contact. Specifically, how and when to distribute “Homeowners Helping Homeowners” questionnaire, Swap Meet flyer, annual meeting notice and our future association bulletins. Andrea will draft some ideas for the bulletin as well as a common contact email for association use.
Our “Swap & Meet” will be FRIDAY & SATURDAY, May 17 & 18. We will also have the responsibility to conduct our individual door-to-door for our assigned zones on that weekend. At the end of which we will either have contact information for each resident or know who we will need to post snail mail to.
Further discussion about holding a summer—4th of July—social event featuring volunteer music by Margaret’s grandchildren and any other musicians we may find.
